Inspection Flow: Wire to Screw

01: Raw Material Arrival
Steel wire rods are sample and tested for chemical composition, mechanical strength, and surface quality before production begins.

02: Wire Drawing
Wire is reduced to the required diameter; operators monitor die condition, size tolerance, and surface finish in real time.

03: Spheroidizing Annealing
Heat-treated wire samples are checked for hardness and microstructure to ensure proper softness for cold forming.

04: Pickling
Acid bath concentration, pH, and temperature are monitored to guarantee clean surfaces and reliable coating adhesion.

05: Skin Pass
Light rolling/drawing is inspected on site for smooth finish, uniformity, and accurate wire diameter.

06: Finished Wire
Samples of prepared wire are tested for tensile strength, coating adhesion, and dimensional consistency.

07: Heading
On-site InspectionFormed fastener heads are checked directly on the line for cracks, shape accuracy, and tooling performance.

08: Point Forming
On-site InspectionScrew points are verified on site for correct angle, length, and symmetry.

09: Threading
Threads are inspected in-process for pitch, depth, concentricity, and surface finish.

Wire Inspection Equipments
-

Wire Micrometer
To confirm wire diameter and tolerances meet specification requirements. -

Tension Testing Machine
Evaluates the mechanical strength and ductility of the wire, verifying its ability to withstand applied loads without failure. -

Metallurgical Microscope
Examines the microstructure to assess material uniformity, heat treatment results, and overall metallurgical quality. Ensures the wire surface is free from cracks, scratches, or coating defects.
Screw Inspection Equipments
-

Digital Vernier Caliper & Gauge
Dimensional AccuracyVerifies that each screw meets specified measurements, including length, diameter, thread pitch, and tolerances to ensure every screw meets dimensional specifications.
-

Profile Projector
Profile & Thread Geometry InspectionProjects a magnified outline of the screw to inspect thread profile, angles, and geometric accuracy that cannot be easily measured by calipers.
-

Vickers & Rockwell Hardness Machines
Hardness TestingMeasures surface and core hardness to verify heat treatment quality, consistency, and resistance to deformation.
-

Torque & Bending Tester
Mechanical Strength & Structural Integrity AssessmentEvaluates torque resistance and the screw’s resistance to bending or deformation under lateral force.
-

Screw-in Torque Tester
Installation Performance EvaluationMeasures the torque required to drive the screw into test material to ensure stable installation and prevent over-torque failure.
-

Tensile Strength Tester
Mechanical Load-Bearing AssessmentApplies axial force to determine the maximum load a screw can withstand before breaking, confirming structural strength.
